I'm been doing rideshare & food delivery driving 3 yrs and my trusty N2 Pro's battery is now shot so it was time to upgrade. Ive only had my new N4 a few days and havent installed it yet, but wanted to post a preliminary review about some key points I've discovered so far. First, watch the brief video showing how quickly the rear cam adjusts to widely-changing light amounts...its almost instant! This quick-adjust capability is important to me cause I do lots of driving at night and the increasing amount of other car drivers behind me with highbeams on, is bugging me more and more. I'm also replacing my standard non-dimming rear view mirror with a high tech one so with this plus the N4, I'm hoping the issues of overly-bright headlights behind me will disappear. The rear cam should work great through my 35% max-legal tint on the rear window. And for me and other 'commercial' drivers who rain-x their windows regularly, rain droplets and dust shouldnt hinder the rear view much at all. Once I install and have a video of its performance in the rain, I'll post & update this review. Second, note how much bigger the N4's screen is vs the N2 Pro's! Its about 2.5x bigger. I plan to mount my N4 up high so it'll be real close to my face. Thus I'm hoping I'll be able to use it as a 'general purpose' backup camera (though I know that since the the rear cam will be mounted on rear window, it wont be that useful for the dreaded 'blind reversing' out of a parking stall when next to a big SUV. I'd need a license plate-mounted backup camera with 180 degree field of view for this specific purpose) One amateurish mistake Vantrue made with the N2 Pro is they made its front-view lens protrude slightly from the unit, meaning one could eventually scratch the lens from putting it lens-downwards on the table or rattle around in the glovebox, lots. But the N4's lens is recessed enough that the circular housing functions as the typical lip to help protect the lens from this. (I know the pic doesnt show this difference all that well, sorry) Lastly, I've tested using my Samsung EVO Plus (top of the line) and EVO Select 256 micro SD cards a little, and they both seem to work just fine. The red EVO Plus was one of the most-commonly recommended SD cards to use in the N2 Pro as of a few yrs ago, so I'm sure there's tons of gig economy drivers like me who already have a bunch. When I've tested both types of cards extensively, I'll update my review. The Select model's about $10 cheaper so hopefully it'll suffice.

This was a great upgrade from my previous camera that I had for three years. It does it all with its three channels and amazing video quality. The inside facing camera is very good, as you can se from my picture, and that alone would be good enough for recording the rear of your car. The additional rear camera is just a great bonus to add to the overall coverage this camera offers. The suction cup mount is secure, holds in place well, and can be positioned so it is mostly covered by the rearview mirror so you almost forget you have it. My only complaint is the power cord is plugged in from the top and not the side, but if you are tucking the wire directly into the headliner this wouldn't be an issue (I purchased an angled USB-C adaptor and all is well). Overall, I am very happy with this camera and would recomend it for anyone looking for a quality full coverage dash cam.

This dashcam supports 3 channels - front, inside, and rear cameras. That makes the system complete. The packaging is also first class. You feel like getting something from Apple. Installation is not complicated but routing the cables takes some work. Although this is true for any camera systems. The picture quality is up to the stated resolution. I am happy with it. There's only one minor area they can improve. The installation menu can use an illustration for rear camera connection. It does have a photo depicting the connection but not very obvious. I missed it first and wonder how to connect the rear camera. It's there but you have to read the text.

I am a regular customer for quality Vantrue DashCams. This is my second dash cam I purchased from them. It is indeed worth the monies spent and serve the purpose for any gig working out there. My self uses this while doing Uber,Lyft,Instacart etc. Vantrue dash cam have really saved me from false claim by others when involved in any kind of mishaps while driving, it records truth about the event and helped with insurance claim twice and I won both the cases. My compliments to Vantrue management for giving such a great dash-cams. I highly recommend Vantrue dash-cams for anyone who like to use while driving for any purpose and save unwanted expenses occurring from false claims.keep it up Vantrue giving excellent dash-cams. There is no completion to their dash-cams.

This Dash Cam has three cameras, including one for the passenger cabin. It provides an almost 360-degree record of the environment around the car. I just wish it came with GPS too, but they sell It for a relatively little extra, you can also add GPS functionality so you’ll be able to view your speed, location, and routes traveled using the included video player.I like that it also records the sounds inside the car. That could be so useful one day!One of the main drawbacks of the dashcam is that it doesn’t have wireless capabilities which means it can’t connect to my smartphone, so if I want to export or view recorded footage on a larger screen I will have to either remove the microSD card or connect the dash cam to a TV or computer. The camera that captures inside of the car is equipped with infrared lamps for good visibility, even in total darkness. The rear-facing camera attaches to the back window and records in 1080p. The star of the show, however, is the primary, front camera: capable of 1440p, 30 fps recording (or 1520p if the other cameras are switched off), it uses a WDR Sony Starvis sensor. This is currently a kind of industry standard and highly prized for its reliable performance in all types of lighting. This array of cameras is combined with a beneficial technology: video motion detection. Aside from the impact sensor, which measures shock and acceleration, this dash cam’s parking mode will trigger a recording whenever it detects a significant change in the image within the field of view of any camera.By contrast with the GPS module, this will mean a bit of DIY on your part (the GPS add-on resides in a replacement mount and requires no skill to get working).Since this particular dash cam uses a supercapacitor rather than an internal battery, you’ll need to connect some wires to your car’s fuse box rather than relying on the normal 12V outlet (as these generally switch off when the key is removed from the ignition). This kit is neither expensive nor difficult to install but maybe too much of a hassle if you’re looking for a truly plug-and-play solution. The dashcam gives some flexibility in terms of what I want to record: I can turn off audio recording, the interior camera, and the rearview. I can also select a time-lapse mode (which is useful for recording a trip, either to show MY employer that I wasn’t wasting time or to supplement my ordinary holiday snapshots) and adjust the sensitivity of the impact sensor. The dashcam can be configured in several different ways. For example, you can choose to tilt the rear-facing interior camera at the front up and down through 60 degrees or mount the rear camera reversed to give a more detailed overview of the passenger compartment.* The screen size is not that big like most dashcam screen, therefore you won’t be able to see much when displaying all three channels at once (this is the default operating mode when all cameras are being recorded). The same 3-picture display isn’t available on your phone or computer: the Vantrue Player doesn’t give you the option of synchronizing the three feeds that can be a drawback.* A bigger problem is that you also can’t adjust the brightness – falling between two chairs, it’s a little distracting at night and a little challenging to make out when it’s bright outside (you can judge for yourself if you watch the video a little further down).* Since you can’t connect the dashcam via WiFi, you have to remove the front dash cam unit and connect it to a computer to export videos, or play them directly on a television using the micro-HD output. Alternatively, you can yank out the memory card and read it using the included microSD to USB converter.* Thanks to an impressive 256 gigabytes of storage, however, you get about 16 hours of recordings when all three channels are in use. This way, if you just delete the footage of trips where nothing happened, you won’t have to export or view it elsewhere very often.Pros* Cheaply upgraded with GPS capability* Nearly all-round view* Good nighttime views inside and in front of the car* Easy installation* Good video qualityCons* Have to install hardwire kit to use parking mode* Cumbersome to export video footage* Somewhat expensive, even with its 3 cameras
